Events Venues Derry

Location

Our convenient location is just 10 – 15 minutes’ drive from the historic walled city of Derry-Londonderry, where the Wild Atlantic Way meets the Causeway Coast.

We are easily accessible by road from Belfast and Dublin. The hotel has ample* free car parking spaces, and plenty of room for coaches.

We are also the nearest hotel to City of Derry Airport, just three miles away. Belfast International Airport can be reached in 80 minutes, and George Best Belfast City Airport in 90 minutes.

Conference and event facilities

Our flexible range of conference spaces includes two large suites (and one the biggest hotel suites in Derry-Londonderry) with capacity for hundreds of delegates, a smaller suite for up to 30 delegates, and an intimate boardroom for meetings of up to 20 people.

With capacity for up to 600 guests, plus its own private bar, reception area and toilet facilities, our Willsboro Suite is ideal for large conferences, exhibitions, banquets and fashion shows.

The hotel has a variety of AV presentation equipment to help your event run smoothly, such as roving microphones and podium microphones, screens, projectors, recording and live streaming capabilities. Staging is also available, and extra equipment can be hired in at additional cost.

High speed, complimentary WIFI is available throughout the hotel with our own dedicated line.

Catering

Our award-winning kitchen, under the direction of head chef Noel Ward, has delicious food and drink options to suit all budgets and make your event all the more memorable.

These include homemade biscuits, seasonal-themed scones and traybakes (a scrumptious Northern Irish delicacy!); hot and cold buffets; evening meals; full-course personalised menus and even bespoke cocktails.

Our three-course Derry Girls Menu, in honour of the successful TV show, has proved a real hit with guests. It features ham hock and onion soda bread, daube of beef and ‘poundies’ with special mince bon bon (from beloved local butcher Doherty’s Meats), and the suitably spirited grand finale: a sweet cream horn pastry, with a dash of local Quiet Man Whiskey.

Hotel Facilities

As a Best Western Plus Hotel, the White Horse Hotel has an internationally recognised seal of approval for our high standards of service, facilities and cleanliness. We are also proud to hold the ‘Good To Go’ mark for our meticulous Covid prevention protocols.

Our 58 en-suite bedrooms comprise of three suites, twin, triple, executive, family and adjoining rooms. Overnight delegates can sink into our award-winning King Koil beds, choice of pillows and luxury linens.

Guests can also unwind post-conference with a local spirit or craft beer in our recently updated bar, or enjoy a meal under a beautiful blossom tree in our newly refurbished restaurant.

As proud members of the LegenDerry food and drink network, we pride ourselves on using the finest produce from nearby farms and shores, including Greencastle haddock in our panko crumbed goujons, local IPA in our homemade wheaten bread, and refreshing Earhart Gin on our drinks menu (named after the famed US aviator Amelia Earhart, who made a pitstop in Derry in 1932).

We also have a 20m heated indoor swimming pool, sauna and steam room and private outdoor hot tub area (available at an additional cost), and a newly renovated, luxurious Spa with a tempting range of treatments, massages and facials.

Our Range of Options

The Willsboro Suite can seat up to 600 people theatre style.

One of the North West’s largest hotel suites, it has natural light, a fixed wooden dancefloor, an anteroom reception area for event registration or breakout sessions, and its own internal toilets for attendees.

Audio visual facilities include: two large screens (over 3m wide), two modern projectors, built-in camera for recording or live streaming your event, colour-changing LED lights.

Room dimensions: 29.7m long x 15.7m wide x 2.5m – 3.5m high.

Capacities: 600 theatre style; 400 banqueting style; 200 classroom style; 135 U shape; 120 boardroom style.


The Campsey Suite has capacity for up to 200 people theatre style, plus a breakout area, fixed wooden dancefloor and natural light.

Audio visual facilities include: ceiling mounted projector and screen.

Room dimensions: 12.4m long x 10.8m wide x 2.5m high.

Capacities: 200 theatre style; 120 banqueting style; 90 classroom style; 60 U shape; 50 boardroom style.


Our elegant Eglinton Suite can seat up to 25 – 30 delegates and boasts excellent natural light.

Room dimensions: 11.5m long x 6m wide x 2.5m high.

Capacities: 25 – 30 classroom style; 22 U shape


Our Garden Room is located above our large Willsboro and Campsey suites and is ideal for smaller meetings, with capacity for up to 20 people.

A versatile space, it has been used as a venue for job interviews and board meetings, an Indian groom’s dressing room, and even a quiet place to warm up bagpipes pre-wedding!

Audio visual facilities include a 42in mounted plasma TV.

Room dimensions: 7.6m long x 4.8m wide x 2.5m high.

Capacities: 20 theatre style; 15 classroom style; 8 boardroom or banqueting style; 10 U shape.
